The Learning Support department offer three drop in sessions a week during lesson time – in the same manner that the music department offer music lessons to pupils.
Students who require or request additional support with either reading or writing can become involved in the drop-in programme – which involves students coming out of class once a week for work with a specialist learning support teacher.
Currently, the three lessons we offer this facility are
- Tuesday Period 3 (Mrs Simpson)
- Friday Period 1 (Mrs Binnie)
- Friday Period 2 (Mrs Binnie)
These lessons were chosen specifically to avoid children coming out of the same lesson each week – they are all in different timetable columns.
The student will be issued with an attendance card that shows which lesson and day they should come out of class each week. The period is rotated so that each subject is only affected once a month.
